Another work of Tim Cook | TechCrunch

In May, when he unveiled the new iPad at an Apple event, CEO Tim Cook wore custom-made Nike sneakers with decorative stitching that included the words “Made on iPad.”
It wasn’t just a collaboration between Apple and Nike. As Bloomberg reminds readers, Cook has been on the board of Nike since 2005, when Cook was second banana at Apple under Steve Jobs and the iPhone was not yet available in the world.
It’s a bigger commitment than some might think. According to Bloomberg, Cook is not only Nike’s top independent director and chairman of the compensation committee, but as part of the necessary change story at Nike, Cook helped secure former Nike executive Elliott Hill as the company’s new CEO. .
Hill, who started as an intern at Nike and retired in 2020, returned last week to replace former eBay CEO John Donahoe, whom Cook previously tapped for the top job. Faced with slowing growth in China among other challenges, Donahoe lasted only four years in the role.
