Anna Delvey Says She Won’t Take ‘Anything’ From Dancing With The Stars

Earlier in the episode, Delvey opened up about feeling “offended” when she read comments about her online after the 33rd season premiere. Delvey’s casting in the show was controversial due to his criminal history and ongoing deportation proceedings.

The so-called “Fake Heiress” was found guilty of attempted fraud, second-degree fraud and theft of services in 2019 and was sentenced to four to 12 years in prison. He was released on parole in March 2021 before being detained by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for overstaying his visa. He had to apply for ICE permission to compete DWTS.

Despite his passing the test, DWTS the judge Carrie Ann Inaba previously urged viewers to give Delvey a chance.

“When you walked off the dance floor, there was a change in energy in this room,” Inaba, 56, told Delvey during the episode. “I think this is scary. I’m not against what you did, but this is about your dancing here, so let’s give her all this space please.”

In Tuesday’s episode, Julia Fox stopped Delvey and Sosa’s practice to give Delvey a pep talk.

“When you’re young, you might do things that you might be ashamed of later,” said Fox, 34. “But it all happened to you in public, so it’s okay that now we get to see your moment.”

Fox told the cameras that it was hard for her to see people being “so mean” to Delvey online.

“If it was their sister or mother, they would get a second chance,” the statement said Uncut gems said the actor. “Even though Anna is putting on a strong exterior, it’s clearly a defense mechanism.”

Before Delvey DWTS the journey came to an end, the judges saw the talent he lacked. After him and Sosa’s quick step of “Suddenly I See” by KT Tunstall On Tuesday, Inaba told Delvey that he wants to see him “embrace” knowledge “fully” to unlock his full potential. Derek Hough he noted that he wanted “more power” from Delvey, but praised him for his “good turn.”

Although the judges thought Delvey had a lot to offer, her talk about not giving up “nothing” in the ballroom is hardly surprising. Earlier this month, he said Entertainment Weekly that winning the mirrorball title would mean “really nothing” to him.

“I don’t know,” Delvey continued. “That would be great.”

Dancing with the Stars simulcast on ABC and Disney+ on Tuesdays at 8 pm ET. There will be no new episode on Tuesday, October 1.
