An Air India passenger has an omelet full of cockroaches during a 16-hour flight

A traveler recently called out Air India after he reportedly found a cockroach in his in-flight meal earlier this month.

Suyesha Savant, who flew from Delhi to New York on September 17, wrote about her unpleasant experience on X earlier this week.

“I found a cockroach in the omelette served to me on the @airindia flight from Delhi to New York,” the mother wrote in a post on Friday. “My 2-year-old finished more than half of it with me when we got this.”

“She suffered from food poisoning as a result,” he added. In the post, Savant shared photos that appear to show a dead cockroach lying on an omelette.

A mother who works as a journalist in India has also revealed a video she recorded on a plane where she talks about the dirt she encountered on the plane.

“Even the bags of this seat were not cleaned and there were bottles of waste, which when I reported it to the staff they said it was a mistake,” said the passenger.

“But how many mistakes?” Savant added.

An Air India spokesperson confirmed to FOX Business that they are aware of the incident. [standard operating procedures] and many inspections to ensure the quality of the food served to our guests.”

“We are concerned about the customer experience in this incident and have spoken to our catering suppliers to investigate further,” the spokesperson said. “We will take the necessary measures to prevent any recurrence of these situations [the] future.”

The post on social media came at a time when Air India was facing what was perceived as the dirty conditions of its planes. Last week, a passenger named Anip Patel wrote about his experience flying first class from Chicago to Delhi, calling it “the best cabin I’ve ever been in.”

“The entertainment system didn’t work for 15 hours,” said the Chicago resident. “Everything was broken. They put tape on the wall to tape it down.

“It was a nightmare. I was robbed on this flight.”
