Alaska Airlines IT issues flight cancellations, disrupting Cyber Monday orders

Business is back to normal at Alaska Airlines after the airline experienced an information technology (IT) problem Monday that disrupted reservations and delayed flights at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (Sea-Tac), according to reports.
“Yesterday morning we experienced an IT issue that caused significant disruption to our operations including flight delays,” the airline said in a statement to FOX Business.
The Seattle-based airline requested a short stop at Sea-Tac Airport at 11:20 a.m. after noon, the airline said, to “remove congestion on the ground” before the issue was resolved.
The airline was offering Cyber Monday deals at the time, and the IT issue briefly disrupted people trying to book flights online, local KIRO Newsradio reported. The sale continues Wednesday, the Alaska Airlines website shows.

The case was allowed to move forward after a federal judge in Seattle denied the airlines’ request to have the Washington citizens’ claims dismissed, according to the report. in court documents.
Residents in the case described the five-kilometer area around the airport as “an area of filth.”
