A late businessman’s Spanish island estate hits the market for a whopping $78M

A sprawling property linked to the late Rainer Schaller has recently been sold on the Spanish island of Mallorca.
He put his property on the market in late September, seeking more than $78.3 million (€72 million) for the 25-hectare property, according to its listing with Alby Euesden of Agency Mallorca.

RSG Group, the company founded by Schaller that owns Gold’s Gym, McFit, John Reed Fitness and other brands, confirmed to FOX Business that the property is his. He and five other people, including his partner and their two children, died after the plane they were traveling in crashed near Costa Rica in 2022.
“After the tragic death of owner Rainer Schaller and his entire family, his former company RSG Group and Gold’s Gym decided to focus on different business strategies, in which Mallorca no longer plays a major role,” the company said. . “We really believe that [the property] it is ready to find its new owner to enjoy the property that was a dream come true for Rainer Schaller.

The property was “carefully maintained by Mr. Schaller and a local builder here in Mallorca, Spain,” listing agent Euesden told FOX Business.

There are five buildings spread over a large area “all connected by meticulously landscaped gardens,” according to its listing. These include the “primary villa,” the guest house, the pool house and the sports house.
A large infinity pool can be found within the estate, as well as an alpaca sanctuary and a “relaxation spa.” The sports field, which is close to the sports house, allows people to play tennis, soccer, basketball and other sports, according to the list.

The property’s two “fincas” have “natural elements and influences from Morocco, Bali and Mykonos” throughout their many rooms, it said.
High-end kitchens, a smoking lounge, a spacious indoor gym and a solar power system are among some of the luxury amenities available at Schaller’s former home, the listing showed.

“It’s definitely a unique range here on the island, something that probably won’t be done again because of the problems and limitations involved in the planning process. Not to mention finding lots of land in a rural area with a panoramic view,” said Euesden. “For this reason, I don’t expect much room for negotiation on the listing price.”
Mallorca is located on the east coast of Spain in the Mediterranean Sea.
