Several brands of frozen waffles have been recalled over possible listeria contamination

Hundreds of varieties of frozen waffles from major chains such as Good and Gather, Publix and Best Choice have been recalled because of a possible listeria risk, the manufacturer said Friday.
TreeHouse Foods, Inc., has decided to voluntarily recall the waffles after routine testing at the manufacturing facility revealed a potential risk.
The company noted that no consumers have reported getting sick after eating any of the frozen waffles.

Brands with recalled frozen waffle packages include: Always Save, Best Choice, BetterGoods, Best Breakfast, Clover Valley, Essentials, Food Lion, Foodhold, Great Eagle, Good and Gather, Great Value, Hannaford, Harris Teeter, HEB Higher Harvest, Kodiak Cakes, waffles at Price Chopper, Publix, Schnucks, SE Grocers, Simple Truth, Higher, Family Western, Good Value, Selection, No Name and Recommendations.

Listeria monocytogenes is a bacterium that can cause muscle aches, nausea, high fever, and diarrhea and can kill children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems. It can also cause problems with pregnancy, miscarriage and stillbirth.
