Promoter Eddie Hearn and Honorable Turki Alalshikh revealed that they have a card scheduled for February 22nd at the Riyadh Season event. Matchroom promoter Hearn didn’t say who would be leading, but said it’s “the best card yet.”
To be “pretty good,” it has to involve one of Hearn’s best boys. Shakur Stevenson He’s supposed to fight in February, so he’s the pick. Shakur must return from surgery to defend against William Zepeda in February.
That will be an interesting fight to see how Shakur deals with this human buzzsaw. Stevenson isn’t a big star, so he doesn’t deserve to be part of the card that Hearn is talking about. It has to be one of Hearn’s big shots.
We can honestly say that Matchroom striker Anthony Joshua will not fight because he will need more time to recover from his defeat in the final against Daniel Dubois. February is too soon for a rematch of Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol 2 has been rescheduled.
Hearn’s fighter, Bivol, is lost, and he will need to rebuild before going back with his winner, Beterbiev.
Turki Aalshikh: “Eddie, are you ready to get a card in February?”
Eddie Hearn: “February 22nd, I think it’s the best card so far for the Riyadh Season.”
