A new laptop is probably a splurge, but keeping your eye out for deals can make it much easier to take the leap toward upgrading. The good news is that you have options at various price points through Best Buy, Amazon, and beyond, whether you’re looking for an everyday workhorse, a cheap Chromebook for homework, a Windows 2-in-1 drawing PC, or a gaming laptop. powerful premium.

As the Senior Shopping Reporter here at Mashable, I’ve been checking out and reviewing the best laptop deals from all the major retailers and OEMs for nearly two years. Read on for my top picks from Oct. 18. (If you don’t see any models that tick all the boxes on your specific wish list, bookmark this page and come back soon: I add new picks every week.)

Note: Retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, and Walmart occasionally list incorrect MSRPs for laptops, making deals appear better or worse than they really are. If the MSRP you see below is different from the one shown on the laptop’s product page, it’s because I tested it against the machine manufacturer and corrected it.

Why we love you

This entry-level Dell laptop has a 12th generation Intel Core i3 CPU, 8GB of RAM, 512GB of SSD storage, and a 15.6-inch non-touch display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It’s nothing spectacular and a little outdated, but this is a sheet I rarely see at this price point. (Hell, even the best laptops don’t have 120Hz refresh rates — including the M3 Apple MacBook Air!)

It’s marked down to $279.99 on Dell’s website, which is 26% off and $10 off last month’s low price. For comparison’s sake, the 256GB model is currently $50.

Why we love you

Simply put, this is a surprisingly cheap gaming laptop with awesome specs. (I’ve never seen a gaming PC from a well-known, big-name brand sell for less than $500 since… it is possible last Black Friday?) Its CPU and GPU are two generations removed and it only has 8GB of memory, but those are fine for less demanding games. Its 144Hz display and 1TB of storage are both unexpectedly nice touches.

At $499.99, Best Buy is taking 29% off its regular sticker price of $699.99. A steal, TBH.

This Mashable Choice Award-winning Copilot+ PC is one of the best Windows laptops we’ve tested all year — a “serious MacBook competitor” that’s faster and more durable than Apple’s 15-inch M3 Air, says Mashable Tech Editor Kim Gedeon. (He gave it a score of 4.5/5.) Its satisfyingly fast keyboard and touchscreen capabilities were also highlights.

Gedeon tested the Meteor Silver variant with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite CPU, 16GB of memory, and 1TB of storage, and that base configuration retails at Best Buy for $849.99. (That’s 29% off its MSRP and the lowest price I’ve ever seen it hit.) A model with identical internals is $50 more on HP’s website at the time of writing.

Another Mashable Choice Award winner, the Zenbook Duo is a 14-inch hybrid laptop with two beautiful OLED displays and relatively good battery life. (It comes with a detachable keyboard and stylus.) This particular configuration has an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor, and it rivaled the performance of the M2 MacBook Air in our tests. It got a 4.8/5 from Gedeon, who declared that “single-display laptops are now defunct” after using them.

The B&H image recently sold for $1,199.99, which is $300 off its MSRP, a new record low, and $75 better than its price during Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days sale earlier this month.
