Anthony Davis Shares Honest Thoughts About Bronny’s Game

After an epic night for the Lakers and LeBron and Bronny James, big man Anthony Davis shared his thoughts on what he’s seen from Bronny so far.

Of course, there are unreasonable expectations placed on the perfect number 55, as he is the son of the GOAT.

In his second preseason game for the Lakers, Bronny had zero points, two rebounds and four turnovers in 14 minutes in LA’s loss to Phoenix.

But Davis has been impressed with the 20-year-old so far.

“He’s tough,” Davis told reporters. “It is clear that he is determined to defend himself. Some nice blocks, Game 1. Body. He gets into screens, good with his hands until he gets to a deflection and a steal. But he is still learning. He’s still trying to figure everything out, so we have to be aware of that. He’s still a rookie and this is a different style of basketball in the league. But I like what I see from him, on both ends of the floor, especially defensively.”

Lakers coach JJ Redick talked about the decision to play both LeBron and Bronny at the same time.

“I just wanted to get them a chance to play together in the preseason … during the game,” Redick said. “I am happy to be a part of this. I really am. Cool as a basketball fan.

He added, “I thought the stretch was right … That was at a time when I thought we had issues with our transition defense,” Redick explained. “It’s just a pairing. I liked what I saw throughout the first half with all the teams we tried. As for ‘Why’, I just wanted to give them a chance to play together before the season. Between the flow of the game, and the way we did the change patterns in the first game, that was the right time to do it.”
