Vanderbilt fans picked up a pole from across Nashville, threw it into the Cumberland River after disrupting No. 1 Alabama

No one has a better night in Nashville than Saturday’s Vanderbilt-Alabama game.
Fans tore down the goalposts inside FirstBank Stadium after the unranked Commodores defeated No. 1 Alabama, 40-35.
Somehow, someway, the fans found the post outside the stadium, and it was the VIP of the evening.

One fan even climbed on top of a goalpost as he left the field.
The goalpost made the trip from the field all the way down to Broadway.
Later, it was submerged in the Cumberland River.
This isn’t the first time the Tennesseans have celebrated a win over Alabama by taking the post for a ride. Volunteer fans did the same thing two years ago, when, at the time, No.
The Commodores took a 23-14 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Vanderbilt added 17 points in the second half and capped the comeback attempt No. 1 Alabama securing an upset win in Nashville.
Jalen Milroe, who is one of the top candidates for the Heisman Trophy after having a great game last week in Tuscaloosa hold Georgiafinished Saturday’s loss with 312 passing yards, one touchdown and one interception.
Sedrick Alexander ran for two touchdowns, Randon Fontenette had a pick-six and Diego Pavia beat Milroe.
“Sports like this change your life,” said Pavia.
Before Saturday, Vanderbilt last beat Alabama on September 29, 1984.

Saturday’s upset win improved Vanderbilt’s record to 3-2, and Alabama’s first loss. The Crimson Tide returns home next week and will try to bounce back against South Carolina.
