Jesse Metcalfe Teases John Tucker Must Die Sequel Update (External)

“I just asked about the update and I can’t believe there is one [any],” Metcalfe, 45, said to himself Us Weekly on Friday, October 4, the Premiere of Hold Your Breath Los Angeles. “People are still talking about it. I would like to help move it forward, but I don’t really know how to do that.”
Metcalfe starred in the 2006 teen rom-com, in which Heather (The Ashanti), Beth (Sophia Bush), Carrie (Arielle Kebbel) and Kate (Brittany Snow) plots revenge on his former triple double, John. News broke in March that Kebbel, 39, was editing the script.
While more details about the sequel’s script have not been revealed, fans have speculated that Metcalfe’s John could be the girl’s father in the new iteration.
“Honestly, I don’t know the actors this age very well, so I’ll have to do some research on that and get back to you,” Metcalfe said Friday, declining to play the role. “But it’s an exciting opportunity to work with a talented, young, up-and-coming actor, that’s for sure.”
Until more stories are shared, Metcalfe can focus on his fond memories of the OG set.
“I really liked all the ladies I worked with. I really did,” he burst out. “I thought they were all beautiful and unique in their own ways. I think the one thing they all have in common is that they’re all very smart.”

“Green-lighting a sequel would be profitable,” he joked. “But, I mean, it’s always nice to hear that people like the movie, especially considering it got so much attention when it came out.”
Metcalfe added, “It’s like 24% or 28% [rating]. I don’t know if it’s that high [of a] Rotten Tomato score. People seem to really like a movie with a low Rotten Tomato score, I think.”
Metcalfe is not alone John Tucker A star awaits further details.
“Penn [Badgley]I don’t know if you called, but I didn’t get a call,” Snow, 38, said on the July episode of his “Podcrushed” podcast.
Badgley, 37, agreed with Snow, who played his own John Tucker love interests.
“Yeah, I didn’t have a phone, no,” Badgley laughed. “I mean, it could be a superposition quantum physics, like, everything is inside a sphere, like, maybe this apple will fall, I can’t say for sure. … I have a very small role in the film, I don’t know if I’ll be a part of it. I never thought of that as a possibility, but I think if there was a script, I would read it.”
Badgley played Scott Tucker, nicknamed “The Other Tucker” as John’s younger brother.
