Gaga, 38, revealed on Tuesday, October 1, an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live that Polansky, 46, asked her if he could marry her before popping the question. The “Die With a Smile” singer previously revealed that Polansky proposed to her after they rode together.
“We took a trip together and climbed rocks. We’ve been rock climbing before, which was really fun,” Gaga explained. “He didn’t propose to me upstairs. We went up, looked around, took pictures.”
Gaga continued, “We went back downstairs and were walking back to the room. It was too much for Michael to ask me if he could ask me. He wanted to know if it was okay to propose before he proposed. I said, ‘Yes! Okay!’”

The host Jimmy Kimmel then asked if Polansky got down on one knee, Gaga replied, “He didn’t. I’m a modern lady, I love what he’s done.”
Kimmel also quizzed Gaga – real name Stefani Germanotta – on whether she plans to have a big Italian wedding, which led to an unexpected revelation.
“I don’t know what we will do. We are not sure yet,” said Gaga. “Actually, we talk a lot about going to court, just the two of us [then] ordering Chinese food. But then again, in my ignorance, it might be like a circus with unicorns.”
I Joker: Folie in Deux the actress and Polansky met in December 2019 and got engaged in April this year. In interview no Vogue published last month, Gaga first shared that Polansky proposed to her after a day of rock climbing.
The happy couple has Gaga’s mother, Cynthia Germanottathanks for their love. The singer’s mother, who runs Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation, met Polansky at a charity event and sang her daughter’s praises.
“My mom met him and she said to me, ‘I think I just met your husband,’ and I said, ‘I’m not ready to meet my husband yet!'” Gaga told the media. Vogue. “I never thought that my mother… found me the best person for me?”
