California police report 4 stabbings in a 9-hour window in Long Beach

Four people were stabbed in Long Beach, California, over the weekend in a nine-hour period, according to police.
Long Beach police said the department has increased its presence after the stabbing incidents that occurred Saturday night and early Sunday morning, according to City News Service.
“The LBPD will have additional officers today, including patrol officers and Police Bike Team officers, to interact with residents and businesses,” the Long Beach Police Department said in a statement to Fox 11 on Sunday.
The first stabbing occurred around 18:20 on Saturday in the 2000 block of East Pacific Coast Highway, where police say an argument led to a fight in which a man suffered multiple stab wounds to his body. The suspects fled the scene before the police arrived at the scene.

The deceased has been hospitalized and is listed as being in a stable condition.
The next stabbing was reported around 2 a.m. Sunday morning, when police responded to the 5100 block of Second Street in Belmont Shore after two men were involved in an altercation. The suspect stabbed the victim above, the victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Police say the suspect fled the scene before police arrived.
Another attack took place at around 2:20 am, after which the police rushed to the local hospital regarding two victims who were admitted to the facility due to stab wounds.
The initial investigation revealed that two women were arguing in the 200 block of Pine Avenue in the city and another woman allegedly stabbed each victim in the body. Two victims are listed in stable condition.

Police investigated the area but were unable to locate the crime scene.
Police say the fourth stabbing was reported around 3:00 a.m. in the 5100 block of Second Street. Although this was the same location as the second stabbing, police said the two attacks do not appear to be connected.
The victim was outside in an argument with a group of women that escalated when one female suspect hit the victim before a second female suspect stabbed the victim in the upper body, police said. The deceased was transported to the hospital in a satisfactory condition.
