Sheryl Swoopes Explains She Doesn’t Hate Caitlin Clark

Sheryl Swoopes has been named as a hater of Caitlin Clark, but she tried to clear the air about the Indiana rookie.
Swoopes has been critical of Clark since entering the league and last week, he made a claim that his Fever teammates don’t like playing there because of the negative attention Clark’s fans are getting.
Ironically, he chose to take the air off the podcast with Clark’s rival, Angel Reese.
“So when you say Sheryl Swoopes and Caitlin Clark, it’s like ‘Oh my God, Sheryl doesn’t like her, so let’s see what this is about,'” Swoopes told Reese on his podcast. According to Angel.
“All of that is nonsense to me. It’s not fair. It’s all stupid. Like, when I look at number 22 in the league… I was 22, A’ja [Wilson] you’re 22, Caitlin is 22, those are some hell of a good number of 22s. And we are all part of the Nike family. Many things that people try to say do exist, they just don’t.
“Right now, I’m tired of it,” Swoopes continued, before Reese added, “It’s frustrating.”
Swoopes continued, “And I don’t just think that [Caitlin] you must be tired of it too. There was nothing there.”
The WNBA legend admitted one thing about the Indiana sensation.
“The only time I made a mistake when talking about Caitlin and what she did was on a podcast back in February, for which I apologized. But it’s like, ‘No. You hate him.’
Towards the end of the episode, Swoopes continued to speak highly of Clark.
“I’m going to give Caitlin Clark her flowers,” Swoopes said. “Yeah, I said… I’m going to give Caitlin her flowers because I think what she’s done coming into this league has brought you more eyes, whether you like it or not. But it brought more eyes, more marketing. Like people who just want to watch the game, and they want to talk about it.”
