Recalls are issued when manufacturers discover safety concerns related to a product.

If recalls are posted to the public, consumers can return the product for a refund, or are advised to dispose of it safely.

There are many reasons why a product may be recalled. When it comes to food recalls, they are issued by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or the US Department of Agriculture (USDA). All food recalls have been issued by the FDA, except for meat, poultry and processed egg products, which are regulated by the USDA.
