Keith Thurman returns after a three-year layoff to fight junior middleweight Brock Jarvis on March 12 at Hoordern Pavilion in Sydney, Australia.
Fans believe Thurman’s reason for leaving the couch after one of her extended breaks that he Saudi money stinks again he wants to get into action while he can.
Unfaithful Thurman
The 36-year-old ‘One Time’ Thurman is young by boxing standards, but he’s not reliable because of his fragile form. Even if he doesn’t come to the ring, when will you see him next? 3 years? Unlike other fighters, Thurman doesn’t live a life.
Thurman (30-1, 22 KOs) must win this fight against the 27-year-old Jarvis (22-1, 20 KOs) to have any chance of being picked up by Turki Al-Sheikh to fight his cards. Although Thurman looked good in his last fight, coming off a 2 1/2-year layoff to beat Mario Barrios in 2022, he may not have the same results this time around. He is not 33 anymore.
“He [Thurman] he hasn’t fought since 2022. I don’t know how serious you are. Keith has been a part-time boxer for the past six years [correction: eight]. One war a year. There are no wars in a year. I don’t know what he wants to achieve when he comes back. I don’t know if he has any left,” said Ade Oladipo speaking to DAZN Boxing about Keith Thurman returning after three years out of the ring to face Brock Jarvis on March 12 in Sydney, Australia.
“You are a name, you are a presence. He knew how to fight those who came. Keith probably looks at section 147 and thinks, ‘That’s pretty thin. I can go in there and, suddenly, make money in Riyadh Season and do damage.
“I lost interest in Keith Thurman a few years ago when he retired, and I wanted him to fight. I wanted him to fight and he didn’t want to fight. My interest in Keith Thurman has been lost for three or four years. “
Everyone lost interest in Thurman years ago when he retired from full-time boxing after his 12-round split decision victory over Danny Garcia on March 4, 2017. Thurman was injured in that fight, injuring an elbow. He stayed in the ring for a year and a half after that, idly licking his wounds.

Saudi Money Eyes?
“If you’re Keith Thurman and he hasn’t fought in a few years, you’re probably thinking, ‘You know what? Let’s do a camp and see how I feel. Let’s go.’ So if I’m Keith I can see what he’s doing but I don’t know if it’s there yet,” said Ade.
“Even when you haven’t fought for a few years, is it still there? I don’t know. I hope it’s because you’re fun. He talks a lot, but let’s see if he is there. I don’t know if Brock Jarvis will prove himself, but let’s see. I will give him a chance but let’s see,” said Ade.
Thurman apparently hopes that Turki Al-Sheikh will notice him and wants to pay him millions to fight on his other cards in the Riyadh Season. At 36, Thurman is still young compared to the other fighters on Turki’s cards. He is younger than Deontay Wilder and Terence Crawford.
‘One Time’ Thurman is unreliable, however, due to his injury problems, and it would be a waste of time for Turki to be used on his cards. If Keith can’t make it through training camp without injury, there’s no point in using him. I would be very surprised if Thurman makes it through his fight with Brock Jarvis on March 12 without an injury that leaves the fight postponed or canceled.
