Delta Air Lines has announced 8 new or expanded cabins by 2025

Last year was a landmark year for Delta Air Lines’ portfolio of airline lounges. While the carrier only opened one Sky Club — in late December, no less — it’s making waves with big-spending travelers by rolling out its flagship business-class-only lounges at its three major beach hubs.

Delta plans to continue that expansion through 2025, the carrier said Tuesday, sharing new details about its fourth Delta One Lounge, as well as seven other new, expanded or renovated traditional Sky Clubs across its network.

Fourth Delta One Lounge

Between summer and early December last year, Delta cut the ribbon on its first three Delta One Lounges.

Today, you’ll find those swanky lounges at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS).

Later this spring, a fourth is on the way.

The Delta One Lounge planned for Seattle Tacoma International Airport (SEA) is expected to open in May, the carrier said Tuesday.

At just under 11,000 square feet, the Delta One facility will be much smaller than JFK’s flagship lounge. Instead, it will be very comparable in size to LAX which opened in October.

DELTA AIR LINES

Set to open in conjunction with the new Sky Club at SEA, you’ll find the new Delta One Lounge near Gate 11 on Concourse A.

The center will feature an open terrace with views of Mount Rainier, the carrier said on Tuesday.

Each of the three Delta One lounges that have opened so far is very different, boasting the most memorable food, beverage and luxury offerings of any of the airline’s flagship locations in the US.

It’s a likely bet that Delta will aim to maintain that standard as it opens its second flagship club on the West Coast.

New Seattle Sky Club

As mentioned, it’s not just Delta One Lounge coming to its Pacific Northwest location.

Seattle will also get a second Sky Club, which will open as part of the same “complex” housing the Delta One facility.

The new 14,000 square foot Sky Club will be located directly below the business center only, Delta Sky Club director of operations Tim Genovese told me in a recent interview.

“It will be stacked. It will have our Delta One on the top floor, and the Sky Club on the ground floor,” Genovese said.

Also, mark your calendars for May for that double lounge opening.

This Sky Club will be Delta’s second in Seattle — meaning the hub will have a number of Delta-branded lounges once the two outposts open.

Salt Lake City is getting an even bigger Sky Club

When Delta opened the 28,000-square-foot Sky Club at its Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) in 2020, it was — at the time — the largest lounge in its network.

Now, the airline is planning to upgrade the Concourse A club with a new, even bigger facility in SLC’s Concourse B.

Later this year, Delta plans to roll out a 34,000 square foot Sky Club that will also rank among the largest on its network today (This will be slightly smaller than the expanded Sky Club at New York’s LaGuardia Airport, not to mention the 40,000. JFK Delta One Lounge).

Delta is targeting the opening of its new Salt Lake City hub in late 2025 — specifically, between October and the end of the year.

1 new Atlanta Sky Club, 3 modified

For the first time in nine years, Delta will introduce a brand new Sky Club at its Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL).

As part of the airport’s Concourse D renovation, Atlanta’s leading airline will unveil a new, 23,000 square foot club near Gate D16. That will be Delta’s new lounge at its location starting in 2016.

The facility is scheduled to debut this spring.

Delta also plans to upgrade its Sky Clubs at concourses A and C, the airline said.

Today, the carrier operates nine Sky Clubs in its hometown.

Not seen in Delta’s 2025 lounge plans: any mention of the Delta One Lounge at its mega location.

Executives have teased the possibility of a top executive there: “We’re looking,” Delta lounge chief Claude Roussel said in October.

But it seems that no such plans will be implemented this year.

The Philly expansion

Finally, Delta plans to expand its lounge area in a competitor’s area.

In the last three months of 2025, the carrier hopes to complete a 2,000-square-foot expansion of its Sky Club near the Terminal D/E connector at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL).

With that announcement, it’s safe to say that 2025 will be a big year for Philly on the bench front. American Airlines, which has a hub at PHL, has already announced plans to open a Flagship Lounge at the airport later this year.

Access rules are strict

For all the excitement about new and expanded lounges, it’s important to note that February will bring a welcome change to the Sky Club for many Delta flyers.

SkyMiles members who get their lounge access with an American Express credit card will be limited to 10 or 15 visits per calendar year, depending on the card.
