Austen Kroll Questions Craig Conover Friendship on Southern Charm
Southern Charm‘s Austen Kroll he really misses being with his brother Craig Conover.
In Bravo’s episode of Thursday, January 2, Austen, 37, sits down with her longtime friend to find out why things seem distant between the two.
“I miss my friend and that’s where I come to you from,” Austen shared in the preview. “We talk and we do this but when I’m going to have lunch, you’re not on my phone list. If I’m going to get a beer, you’re not on my phone list because your answer is usually ‘because I’m gardening.’
Clearly surprised by the conversation, Craig, 35, quickly tries to defend himself and ask Austen questions the last time he picked up the phone to arrange a lunch date.
“That’s your business,” Craig replied. “I don’t care about the mind reader. I didn’t know this—it was going on. I thought we were good. Why don’t we set up a weekly social hour?”
From Austen’s point of view, it might not be the best time to be satirizing something. After all, Craig didn’t get an invitation Patricia Altschul‘s birthday dinner due to his absence from the group.
As an example, Austen describes a weekend when she was scheduled to play golf with Craig on Sunday. However, the night before, his friend withdrew to take care of his garden.
“Yeah, because I don’t want to spend five hours playing golf when I have other things to do,” Craig replied. “It was a job. … That’s what makes me happy now is working and making money.”
Austen joined first Southern Charm in 2017 for season 4. Since then, she has maintained a friendship with Craig and the couple opened a new bar called By The Way. At the same time, he wishes his colleague and friend had more “balance”.
“I wish Craig had more balance in his life,” Austen said to herself Us Weekly earlier this month. “I wish Craig would want to go out to eat with me again [my girlfriend] Audrey. Craig is like a hermit. “
While Austen is pleased with Craig’s success in the business world with Sewing Down South, Spritz Society and other ventures, she hopes he will not be forgotten.
“It’ll make me look like a kid maybe,” Austen joked as she teased future friendship talks with Craig. Southern Charm. “The message is there.”
