Sony State of Play: Ghost of Yotei and Everything Announced for PS5 and PSVR 2

Announcing the event only on Monday, Sony held a State of Play presentation on Tuesday full of trailers, many of which are for games we’ve never seen before, including a surprise reveal of the Ghost of Tsushima sequel Ghost of Yotei.
The series of trailers also includes gameplay reveals of highly anticipated titles such as Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Monster Hunter Wilds, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered and the VR title Hitman: World of Assassination.
There were also trailers for updates to many current games, including new free content coming to Astro Bot, the final DLC for TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge and the second and final DLC for Alan Wake II.
Sony has included another sizzle reel of games developed for the upcoming PS5 Pro, including some that were recently revealed to promote the displays from the new console such as Dragon’s Dogma 2, The Crew Motorfest and Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
Sandwiched between the new game trailers were the new chrome console and DualSense controller covers for the PS5, which come in three colors: teal, indigo and pearl. These can be pre-ordered from Oct. 3.

Astro Bot
The fast-paced classic Astro Bot is getting a free content pack this fall with five new online speedrun levels and 10 new bots for players to unlock, including cool versions of Helldivers 2 and Stellar Blade.
The Midnight Journey
This new adventure from Moon Hood Studios, creators of Lost in Random, features handmade clay creature designs with a stop-motion look. Midnight Walk is coming to PS5 and PSVR at an unannounced date.
Hell Us
A new post-apocalypse horror game, Hell Says, pits players against faceless monsters while exploring a strange, vivid landscape of abandoned buildings and ancient temples. Hell is Us, developed by Rogue Factor studio, does not have a release date yet.
Metro Awakening
The next game set in the Metro franchise is a VR shooter for the PSVR2, bringing first-person immersive underground horror action. The game comes out on Nov. 7, 2025.
ArcheAge Chronicles
The exploration-based action game, ArcheAge Chronicles, delivers a ghostly multiplayer fantasy adventure — a game that looks like it will have an expansive story revealed in upcoming trailers. ArcheAge Chronicles is coming out sometime in 2025.
Palworld
The “Pokemon with guns” game of collecting adventures and building Palworld has finally arrived on PS5 and is out now.
Lunar Collection Remastered
Fans of PS1 classic JRPGs in the Lunar series can revisit them early next year. The Lunar Remastered Collection, as the collection is called, collects Lunar Silver Star Story Complete and Lunar Eternal Blue, coming to PS4 and PS5 in the spring of 2025.
TMNT Shredder’s Revenge DLC: Tough Reptiles
The side-scrolling beat-em-up is getting a small expansion, Radical Reptiles, out today, adding two new characters — super athlete Mondo Gecko and chemistry student Mona Lisa — and a new set of remixed songs from the soundtrack. . The DLC is out now for PS4 and PS5.
Sonic X Shadow Generations movie content
When Sonic X Shadow Generations was released on Oct. 25, the game will receive a free bonus content pack on December 12 that includes a Sonic 3 movie key — including a version of Shadow that looks more like a movie and even voice lines. by Keanu Reeves.
The Fantasian Neo Dimension
Fantasian, the epic RPG from the creator of the original Final Fantasy, Hironobu Sakaguchi, from Apple Arcade is coming to PS5 and more as Fantasian Neo Dimension. The game comes out on Dec. 5, 2024.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard
Boss battle footage showing the player as a mage duking it out with a giant dragon. Bioware has also released an 11-minute mage-deep dive video for fans who want a glimpse into the magic’s structure. It comes out on October 31st for PS5.
Alan Wake II: The Lake House DLC
Alan Wake II’s second DLC, Lake House, has been teased with plenty of control fan fodder as a voice-over describes the dangers of the Bureau of Control setting up shop in a place called Lake House — presumably the one in the middle of nowhere. of the original Alan Wake. The DLC arrives in October as part of the Expansion Pass — owners of the regular version of the game will have to upgrade to the Digital Deluxe edition to get it along with the previous DLC, Night Springs.
Hitman: The Killing World
Want to take your stealth (or not stealth) first-person kill? Hitman’s VR version, Killing World, is headed to PSVR2 and is coming in December.
Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered
Reminiscences of the popular 1999 PS1 game, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, and its 2001 sequel will be released on Dec. 10 on PS4 and PS5.
Afraid of the Spotlight
The lo-fi retro PS1 horror game Fear the Spotlight, which we tested at Summer Game Fest, arrives just in time for Scary Days. The first title from publisher Blumhouse Games is coming to PS5 and PS4 on Oct. 22.
Towers of Aghasba
The newly revealed adventure game Towers of Aghasba looks like a bright and vivid exploration of the wild island world with online co-op. Early access starts in October.
Fortnite
Lego’s Fortnite mode gets split-screen, but players of any of its modes can opt for a limited edition Fortnite-style DualSense controller, with pre-orders starting Oct. 3.
Dynasty Warriors Origins
The latest military-level battle game in the Dynasty Warriors franchise, Dynasty Warriors Origins, is getting a trailer and release date, coming to PS5 on Jan. 17, 2025.
Monster Hunter Wilds
Another preview of Monster Hunter Wilds shows us fighting in swampy rivers with new aquatic monsters to fight, as well as fishing, riding and other strange bear inhabitants wearing mushroom hats. Monster Hunter Wilds released for PS5 on Feb. 28, 2025, which can be pre-ordered now with costumes and game art bonuses. There’s another stream on Thursday, September 26, on Capcom’s YouTube channel that previews the game further.
Lego Horizon Adventures
Lego Horizon Adventures, which we saw revealed during Summer Game Fest, has pre-orders open on Oct. 3 and the full PS5 release on Nov. 14.
Horizon Zero Dawn has been remastered
Speaking of the Horizon franchise, the original Horizon Zero Dawn has been remade to match Horizon Forbidden West, including 10 hours of re-recorded motion capture, coming Oct. 31 on PS5 and PC. Owners of the original PS4 version of the game will be able to upgrade for $10.
Stellar Blade DLC crossover with Nier: Automata
For Stellar Blade fans, collaboration with the same Nier Automata is coming soon to the PS5 game. Stellar Blade also gets a few extras, including a photo editing pack and a soundtrack that’s out now.
The spirit of Yotei
In what is becoming a banner few years of games set in feudal Japan, the studio’s next game Sucker Punch has received a trailer. The follow-up to Ghost of Tsushima follows a female ronin in a sinister mask as she traverses northern Japan in 1603. The game is coming sometime in 2025.
