Travis Kelce Says Love Actually ‘Has Nothing To Do With Christmas’
Travis Kelce he is not ashamed to admit that he is Love Actually fan, but he doesn’t think it’s a Christmas movie.
Travis, 35, and his brother, Jason Kelcethey are combined Kylie Kelce on the Tuesday, December 24, episode of “New Heights” to give their holiday season updates. Kylie, 32, referred to Love Actually “like one of my favorite movies, period,” but Jason, 37, wasn’t convinced.
“Jason, you might be the odd one out here. I actually enjoyed it true love,” said Travis, prompting Jason to clarify that “it’s not a fun movie to watch.
According to Jason, the “Christmas element” is missing from the film, which takes place during the holidays. “And then again, the emotions and the lessons and the whole values that it describes are so terrifying,” he continued. “But we’re going to sink into that.”
Kylie reiterated that she “really loves” the film, joking, “I can’t wait.” [Jason] to sit here and stay in it for the next 10 minutes.”
And that’s exactly what he did. Jason even called Love Actually “it’s the worst Christmas movie I’ve ever seen,” and Travis admitted that there was a certain amount of holiday spirit missing from the story.
“I didn’t feel Christmas at all during the movie,” Travis said. “I enjoyed the movie, I didn’t realize how much it had to do with Christmas.”
To Kylie, Love Actually it excels in the way it tells several stories in one film. Jason and Travis proceeded to separate each of those storylines from the chaotic narrative of the plot, highlighting. Liam Neeson again Thomas Brodie-SangsterDaniel and Sam characters as their favorite. (Kylie and Jason even revealed that their daughter Ellie, 3, became shy when she saw Sam on screen.)
While she’s a big fan of the movie overall, Kylie admitted there was one part of the story that “didn’t sit well” with her: Mark (Andrew Lincoln) dating his best friend’s wife, Juliet (Keira Knightley). Travis, meanwhile, has given the popular display card site his seal of approval.
“That’s the typical way to do it [it],” he said. “That’s a very romantic way to tell someone you’re in love with them, isn’t it?”
Travis agreed with his sister-in-law that “all these stories are coming together,” but he wasn’t sure that was a good thing. “It should make it look like this is what is happening in the community,” he continued. “Like all these different love stories [and] this is what is happening around you. And it’s scary because there are many scandals in it.”
While some of the twists and turns were “a bit off” for his taste, Travis was “happy to follow along [with] all matters.”
The three continued to weigh in Love Actually in several stages, from directing and acting to the “Christmas number.” Jason and Kylie got a much higher level of Christmas spirit than Travis did.
“This had nothing to do with Christmas,” he quipped. “You two are just trying to be generous. He is not the one I will be generous with.”
