Anthony Davis’ Wife Teases Him After He Almost Called The Lakers Game

Anthony Davis was kicked by his wife, Marlen, after being bailed out by Rui Hachimura during the Lakers-Kings game on Saturday night.

Davis, who is shooting 78.1% on the season, almost lost his team in this game.

There were 12.1 seconds left in the game and LA was leading 101-99 over Sacramento.

AD was awarded two free-throws and a game-tying opportunity when he was fouled on a jumper in the final minutes.

He missed both.

But, Rui Hachimura saved the game with a second strikeout on Austin Reaves, who then knocked down both of his free throws.

After the game, Davis didn’t seem fazed by the miss and shared his wife’s troll story.

“No, I don’t want to say I’m frustrated because I love them both,” Davis said. “Both of them were going in and out. I feel like I didn’t shoot differently. They weren’t bad when I liked to miss completely left, short, right or long. Both were in and out.

“But thank you Rui for giving me the tip. My wife even called me and said ‘Rui saved you.’ That made me feel even worse. Whose side are you on? But at the end of the day, Rui got a tip, AR dropped two and we were able to win. “

Despite his decent free throw percentage this season, the big man has hit 6 of 16 clutch free throws this season.

But, it doesn’t appear that head coach JJ Redick will make any major changes.

“I think as a player, those things can weigh on you,” Redick said. “I trust him. I believe in him. He will be in those situations again and I am sure he will shoot. This and the Orlando game, I don’t give up on having the basketball in his hands for less than 30 seconds.”
