Boxing Results: Usyk’s Skills Overcome Fury in Riyadh

Oleksander Usyk (23-0, 12 KOs) looked innocent 24k goldholding on to his WBA, WBC, and WBO heavyweight titles with a 12-round unanimous decision in his rematch with Tyson Fury (34-2-2, 24 KOs) on Saturday night at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh. Saudi Arabia.

The fight was often a chess match, with Usyk, 37, using a lot of power and licks the 281-lb, Fury looking good with left hands to the head. Tyson fought Usyk until the fifth round.

Fury’s Weight A Factor

In the sixth, Usyk lit up Fury, hitting him repeatedly with left hands to the head and controlling the rest of the round.

The extra weight Fury put on for the fight seemed to slow him down in the second half of the tournament, looking sluggish and unable to attack like he did in the first fight. The Gyspy Knig carried a lot of fat in its center. Even his trunk had risen higher than usual, almost up to his ribs, you could see that he was not ready for a rematch.

Fury continued to attack in the ninth, which was one of his better rounds. However, they came back strong for the tenth time, chasing Fury8 in the ring at the last minute, hitting him with shots, and he was forced to hold it.

In the 11th and 12th, Usyk was still attacking, Fury hitting the ground, trying to pin him down. Only Fury was left – damaging him again wouldn’t work this time

Dubois Calls Usyk

IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois entered the ring and called out Syk after the bout. It’s not clear who gave him the green light to come in, but it’s pretty easy to figure that out. Usyk said he is ready for this fight.

Obviously, Usyk will not get the Anthony Joshua fight, as he has already beaten him twice, and it is disappointing to get a third one. The same goes for Fury. It doesn’t help that Turki Alalshikh is setting up a trilogy between them because Usyk is too good looking and Fury is too old and fat.

After the fight Fury’s promoter was interviewed and he said he felt he did enough to win. There wasn’t much applause when he said that.
