Trump, Bezos sat down for dinner earlier this week

President-elect Donald Trump and Jeff Bezos sat down together earlier this week for dinner.

The dinner between the incoming president and Bezos, the executive chairman of Amazon and the founder of Blue Origin, took place on Wednesday night at Mar-a-Lago, according to Trump’s transition team.

Outlets like the New York Post and the Washington Post previously reported on the meeting.

The meeting between Bezos and Trump was expected. The president-elect revealed on CNBC on December 12 that the two have plans to sit down, saying Bezos is “coming.”

“Mark Zuckerberg has been coming to see me. I can tell you Elon [Musk] it’s another and Jeff Bezos is coming next week,” he told the outlet at the time.

Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta Platform, met with Trump in November. Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai and Apple CEO Tim Cook have also sat down with the president-elect, according to reports.

Bezos said “congratulations to our 45th and now 47th President on a remarkable political comeback and a significant victory” on November 6 after Trump was declared the winner of the presidential election.

“No nation has greater opportunities,” said the founder of Amazon X post. “We wish @realDonaldTrump every success in leading and uniting the America we all love.”

Recently, while participating in the New York Times event on December 4, Bezos weighed in on Trump’s upcoming presidency.

“It seems like he has a lot of power in deregulation, and my opinion is, if I can help him do that, I will,” he told the media.

Musk appeared at Wednesday’s dinner between Trump and Bezos, calling it a “great conversation,” according to the Washington Post.

Trump is expected to take office on January 20 after his inauguration. His running mate, Vice President-elect JD Vance, will also be sworn in.

He won the presidency with 312 electoral college votes. Vice President Kamala Harris, who ran on the Democratic Alliance ticket, got 226.
