Maruti Suzuki teases its first eBorn Electric SUV; The VITARA will debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025
Maruti Suzuki and VITARA: Automaker Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the eBorn electric SUV, i.e. VITARA, in India. According to an official release, the company will showcase the production-ready VITARA at the much-anticipated Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. However, before the official launch, Maruti Suzuki teased the first look of the electric car on Friday, December 20.
With this global model, built in India and already launched by Suzuki Motor Corporation at the Milan Motor Show in Italy, the company is all set to revolutionize electric mobility in India.
Speaking at the announcement, Partho Banerjee, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, expressed the company’s commitment to sustainable mobility. “The VITARA is a testament to our unwavering commitment to sustainable mobility and technological innovation. With decades of automotive expertise, we have combined state-of-the-art electric technology with a customer-first approach to deliver something truly transformative,” said Banerjee.
He also emphasized the company’s approach to simplifying the EV ownership experience. “At Maruti Suzuki, we have always believed that in order to encourage EV adoption, we need to create a comprehensive ecosystem that will facilitate the customer journey of electric vehicle ownership,” he said.
The Company’s Broad Vision for the Future
Banerjee also outlined the company’s broader vision for the future. He said, “A key barrier to the adoption of EVs is the lack of easily accessible charging. To address this issue, we are committed to introducing a reliable and complete EV ecosystem alongside the e VITARA.”
This will “make EVs affordable, relevant, and attractive to a wider set of customers, and this is exactly what we set out to achieve with the e VITARA,” he added.
