Anger vs. Usyk II: John Fury Out Of Corner
Tyson Fury’s TRAINER, SugarHill Steward, has revealed that John Fury will NOT be in his corner on Saturday night in a rematch with United heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk at the Kingdom Arena, Riyadh.
Papa Fury Out
DAZN reports that Papa Fury, John, will not be in Tyson’s corner during the fight. Some people believe there were too many voices in Fury’s corner when he clashed with unified champion Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) earlier this year on May 18, confusing different voices pointing to instructions from the ‘Gypsy King.’
Having John in the corner wasn’t the reason why Fury lost that fight, but he is clearly a player easy scapegoat for fans to suspect why their hero appeared. Fury fans need someone to blame for their Viking coming out with Usyk, because it would be too painful for them to admit that he is just plain wrong.
How the fight went wouldn’t have made a difference if John Fury hadn’t helped. Sugarhill Steward had no answers for Fury to deal with Usyk’s superior skills, movement, and athleticism.
Steward looked like he had lost his mind completely when things started to go wrong for Gyspy King in the eighth round. When Fury had his beak bleeding in the eighth round, SugarHill couldn’t help him. Tyson was alone. His coach looked like he didn’t know what to do. John had the right idea. ‘Attack, attack and attack.’
what i saw, John was alone who seemed to have some useful advice in the corner that night. If anything, Fury should have ditched his trainer SugarHill and other assistants and just kept Pope preparing for the rematch.
The things SugarHill had taught Fury since meeting him in 2019, such as leaning and roughhouse tactics, were useless to Usyk. He removed that simple-minded approach instantly, leaving Fury with nothing to fall back on.
