James Kennedy Focuses on Abuse After Arrest for Domestic Violence

James Kennedy released a statement about how she is prioritizing her mental health – and her sobriety – days after being arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence.

“I’m committed to making some important changes in my life,” Kennedy, 32, wrote on Instagram Story on Tuesday, December 17. “I’m taking time to focus on my sobriety, personal growth, and the presence of my loved ones.”

Kennedy thanked her loved ones for staying by her side, adding, “Navigating through challenging times is not easy but I am determined to learn, grow and move forward with the amazing support system around me.”

Us Weekly confirmed on Thursday, December 12, that the police were sent to Kennedy’s home, where he lives with his girlfriend Ally Lewberon December 10. Authorities received a call about an argument between a man and a woman and saw Kennedy allegedly grabbing the woman. Police rushed to the scene and saw no injuries.

Kennedy later admitted that he was “sober in California” because marijuana helped him avoid alcohol. After his high-profile breakup since Rachel “Raquel” LevissKennedy confirmed that he started drinking again.
