NFL player Xavier Legette it has an amazing taste when it comes to food.
The Carolina Panthers rookie, 23, appeared on the Tuesday, Dec. 10 episode of “St. Brown Podcast” and made an unexpected revelation about what he likes to eat.
Behind the podcast hosts Amon-Ra,25, and Equanimeous St. Brown28, asked Legette about his “hot food” when it comes to the “weird thing” he likes to eat, the athlete revealed what kind of animal he makes on his dinner plate.
“I eat a raccoon,” Legette shared with NFL wide receivers.
The brothers of St. Brown who looked shocked asked him to clarify what he meant.
“Like a raccoon you see in a trash can,” Legette said. “I’m hunting for it. I kill it. I take myself out. Cook. Eat it. That’s all.”
Legette added that the last time he ate raccoon was at Thanksgiving and shared an insight into what the meat tastes like.
“Everybody’s trying to keep things tasting like chicken,” Legette said. But the raccoon has its own taste.
The rookie went on to share that it wasn’t just the raccoon that liked to eat it. According to the sports star, squirrels and rabbits also often make the cut on his home menu.
This is not the first time Legette has gone public about his love of eating raccoon meat.
In November, Legette took to social media to talk about her family’s plans for their Thanksgiving feast.
While many Americans like to eat turkey for the holidays, Legette said raccoon was in the cards for him.
“Man, what I’m most excited to eat today, would be that raccoon,” he said in an Instagram story posted on Thanksgiving.
“My cousin called me last night, and told me that they killed a raccoon two days ago. They took off the clothes and everything – they washed him. Yes, we are going to dive into that today.”
This is not the first time the footballer has made headlines for his views on food.
After a Panthers training session in Munich, Germany in November, Legette tried some real German sausages in a funny video RTL Sport.
“Should I cook it?” he asked excitedly about the sausages, before taking a bite.
Legette also had thoughts about chicken wings as he reviewed the German offerings.
In the video he admitted that he’s getting used to “the distinct twang of the sauce.”
“I had chicken wings before,” he said. “It had a slightly different flavor to it.”
