Bipartisan lawmakers are ‘equally angry’ about the government’s handling of drone sightings

A New Jersey lawmaker says he “can’t believe” how the government is framing the investigation into drone sightings in the American northeast.

State Assemblyman Paul Kanitra joined “Fox News @ Night” Thursday to discuss the bipartisan anger over the government’s handling of drone sightings.

“We’re a divided society, but I can tell you when we were at ‘The Rock,’ in our security building in New Jersey, and we had a hundred state officials from all political parties – the upper house, the lower house – everyone was equally angry about the situation,” Kanitra said.

The first drone sighting occurred in New Jersey on November 18, the Federal Aviation Administration said earlier this month, prompting the agency to issue two temporary flight restrictions.

Kanitra said he learned at the state legislature’s intelligence briefing on Wednesday that drone sightings have been confirmed “every night since then.”

In a Facebook post, Kanitra said he urged the Department of Homeland Security during that forum to “take swift and decisive action” against drones, describing the situation as “upsetting.”

On Thursday, the White House said the investigation is in its early stages, but nothing, so far, has revealed malicious or criminal intent, or a national security threat.

“If these are foreign enemies with these drones, and we’re a month into this and we haven’t done enough, I don’t believe our government is talking the way they are,” he said. Fox News @ Night.”

He said “these are not hobbyist drones” and the military should have the necessary technology to obtain high-quality images.
