The Day the World Explodes First Trailer for Looney Tunes’ Funny Return to the Big Screen

After the poster dropped from earlier this week, we now have the first full theatrical trailer. Looney Tunes feature film, The Day the World Exploded. The film is a throwback to the atomic age sci-fi thriller for two Looney Tunes legends in the center; starring Eric Bauza as Daffy Duck and Porky and Candi Milo as Petunia Pig. Peter MacNicol provides the voice of the film’s antagonist with Wayne Knight and Fred Tatasciore in supporting roles.

Although the film was made under Warner Bros Animation, the company has left the distribution to Ketchup Entertainment here in the United States, where the film will be available on February 28. If the film does well at the North American box office, it could open. department that Warner Bros. is reevaluating plans for its finished film Coyote vs. Acmie—kept last year out of the name of its status since, even after many Hollywood directors and actors praised its comedy efforts.

At the same time, there are also plans for a full IP shakeup with the new team at Warner Bros. Animation. According to Deadline, WB Animation recently announced a Tom and Jerry a film written by Rashida Jones, Will McCormack, and Michael Govier that aims to start a “new retelling of the adventures” of Tom and Jerry.

Back in August, Cartoon Brew (via Puck) reported that Warner Bros. planning the restoration of the theater Looney Tunes franchise eventually (but not too soon; the year quoted was 2028). There were no other details on what that might look like—and fans should take any reports of future projects for these actors with a grain of salt, because we’ve seen how they’ve been treated in the past by Warner Bros.
