The FIFA Congress confirms the Middle Eastern nation’s bid for 2034 – with Morocco, Spain and Portugal to co-host the 2030 edition.

The world football governing body, FIFA, has officially announced Saudi Arabia as the host of the 2034 FIFA World Cup.

The FIFA Extraordinary Congress, held on Wednesday, also confirmed Morocco, Spain and Portugal as the hosts of the 2030 World Cup with Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay playing celebratory matches.

Saudi Arabia will become the second Middle Eastern country to host the tournament after Qatar hosted the tournament in 2022.

The 2034 edition will be the first ever tournament with 48 teams in one host country.

The games will be held in 15 stadiums in five host cities in Saudi Arabia: Riyadh, Jeddah, Khobar, Abha, and Neom.

Riyadh’s 92,000-capacity King Salman Stadium is expected to host the opening and final games once it is built.
