“I don’t think there is a member of the Fly Team who is not tired of Booth,” Hayden, 37, said to himself. Us Weekly before his first episode of the CBS series airing on Tuesday, December 10.
During Tuesday’s episode, Charleston FBI agent Tyler Booth (Hayden) enlists the help of former partner Wes Mitchell (Jesse Lee Soffer) – now Air Force One Special Agent in Charge of Budapest – as he tries to track down a fugitive on the FBI’s most wanted list.

Despite Tyler and Wes butting heads over the case, they caught their man and, as a result, Tyler was allowed to stay with the Fly Team overseas until he decided his next steps.
“I think Wes would really want his ex to be patient and do this the right way. There couldn’t be a better opportunity [to get back on track],” Hayden said Us Wes’ hopes for Tyler and his career moving forward.
The actor teased that he’s “not sure Tyler can” draw lines.

Joana Linda/CBS“Then to make things more difficult as the cases get more intense, extreme and personal to Wes, that opens the door for him to maybe not follow his friend too much,” Hayden explained, noting that the pressure on Wes could lead Tyler to “give him advice he doesn’t need.” or maybe it doesn’t benefit Wes’ good side. Angel Wes.”
When Wes took over the Fly Team at the beginning of season 4, he made it clear that he was focused on results. Since then, he has blurred the lines when it comes to following established principles several times. Now that Tyler – who Wes says he owes him – is in town, those lines will blur a bit.
“You’ve seen how Tyler reacts when it comes to him. If it was said to Wes, how would he react?” Hayden asked, referring to Tyler’s daughter being dragged into her final case. “How will he react when his old friend whispers in his ear, ‘You know, how do we do this.'”

Tyler and Wes had previously had a falling out between them, which led to Tyler hitting the bullseye and Wes continuing to climb the FBI ladder. Their bond, no matter how deep, may not help them move forward, according to Hayden.
“I think since it’s getting more personal on the Fly Team—I’m not sure [Tyler’s presence] he will always be useful,” he agreed. “I think it will make it difficult.”
Hayden revealed that “the bad guy from the previous story is coming back” to haunt the group, leading to “tough decisions” for Wes.

CBSThose decisions are exacerbated by having Tyler under his command. “I think you’re going to see him struggle even more with Tyler around,” Hayden teased.
Despite all the tension to come (fans can expect to see Hayden in at least four episodes this season) Tyler will stay strong because his college-aged daughter is back in the US.
“I think that’s one of the best anchors of Tyler’s character,” he said Us. “His relationship with his daughter, his love for his daughter, that’s his number one [most] the important thing in his life, to be near him [and] to keep him safe.”

The bad guy in Tuesday’s episode threatened to expose Tyler’s daughter’s porn to get to him. Wes, however, had Tyler’s back and helped him avoid that painful embarrassment.
“You see how he wakes up when this boy follows his daughter. After that any semblance of law-abiding goes out the window and you don’t blame him completely,” Hayden said, calling it “the organizing element in all of his bad behavior.”
While Tyler has agreed to live overseas, Hayden said the pull for his daughter and her safety will never end. “Tyler will join the Fly Team, but his relationship with his daughter and his closeness with her will continue to be influential,” he concluded.
