The incident of Swatting in Georgia at the home of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene leads to a fatal car accident
Making an apparent phone call to the north Georgia home of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., left a woman dead following a car accident involving local police.
Greene took to social media on Monday to report that he had received a bomb threat against his home. The congressman said the assistant chief of the Rome Police Department received threats via email, which led to a bomb squad being sent to his home.
Greene says this isn’t the first time he’s been called on the phone since being elected to Congress, noting that he’s “lost at least nine times.”
Calling involves alerting 911 of a false threat to a particular location or person, which prompts a police response and can divert resources from real crimes or threats.

Greene said the email was traced back to a Russian IP address and his office will be working with local and state law enforcement, including the FBI, to bring the perpetrator to justice.
Rome police reported that when they tried to respond to Greene’s home, a serious incident occurred involving one of the officers.
“On Monday December 9th, an officer with the Rome Police Department was traveling in a personal vehicle on his way to take his place with the Bomb Squad. The officer was involved in a traffic accident on Redmond Rd near Walmart which caused significant travel delays. near the Norfolk Southern Railroad Tracks.”

Greene said he was “heartbroken” by the fatal crash, which claimed the life of a woman and injured a police officer.
“I am heartbroken right now. I have just been informed that an innocent woman died today in a car accident involving a member of the Rome police team who was responding to my threat,” he wrote.
“These violent political threats have deadly consequences. Unnecessary pressure on law enforcement officers who should take them seriously. A police officer was afraid to protect my life. And now, a woman has lost her life because of this disgusting act,” the document said. said. “My prayers are with Tammie Pickelsimer, her family, the injured officer, and the entire Rome Police Department.”

Greene is visibly upset throughout his updates, accusing the caller of the murder.
“I’m sick to my stomach but I’m also angry, this shouldn’t have happened and I pray that it won’t happen again,” he said.
He went on to thank the Rome PD for protecting the city and risking their lives.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
