Hong Kong-based hotel group Mandarin Oriental is set to strengthen its European presence.
The luxury hotel brand plans to add the Hotel Lutetia in Paris and the Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam to its network of luxury hotels around the world. Following the planned completion of the deal, Hotel Lutetia will be renamed Mandarin Oriental Lutetia, Paris. The Conservatorium Hotel, following an extensive renovation, is expected to be renamed the Mandarin Oriental Conservatorium, Amsterdam, in January 2026.
“Mandarin Oriental is focused on becoming a global leader in luxury hospitality,” said Laurent Kleitman, chief executive officer of Mandarin Oriental, in a statement. “These new long-term management agreements with two of Europe’s most valuable luxury hotels are at the heart of our strategy to grow and strengthen our brand’s presence in the world’s most attractive destinations.”

The Lutetia Hotel, which dates back to the early 1900s, is on the Left Bank and has Mandarin connections. Architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte, who designed the Mandarin Oriental Paris, also designed the Hotel Lutetia for more than $200 million, a four-year renovation, which was completed in 2018. The 184-room property (including 47 suites) is one of Paris’ most prestigious palaces. hotels, such as the Mandarin Oriental Paris.
“Soon as we have two Palace hotels in Paris, one on the left and one on the right, we proudly confirm our commitment to the French hospitality market and create the right choice for our guests,” said Kleitman.

The Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam first opened in 2011 and is renowned for its modern accommodations in a historic building that once served as a bank and music venue. The hotel has 129 guest rooms and suites and is centrally located in the Dutch capital near the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum.
Mandarin Oriental aims to maintain both the property’s “unique character and the essence of local culture.” The two hotels share an owner – Locka Holding BV – and are members of the Sethi Group.
“Likewise, adding the Conservatorium Hotel to our portfolio will bring a new dimension to our presence in all of Europe’s leading capitals, where we are already well-versed in delivering world-class services to cities that value luxury and heritage,” added Kleitman.
News of the expansion comes days after leaders at Mandarin Oriental also announced plans to expand its offering of luxury vacation rentals, proving the luxury company is committed to offering guests a variety of brands around the world.
