Ride-hailing hub at NAIA-T3 opens

SAN MIGUEL-LED New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) has opened a central hub for boarding services at Terminal 3 (T3) of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), the country’s private gateway company said.

“With a central hub and various transportation options, we bring more order and efficiency to the airport. This is part of our commitment to make travel easy and stress-free for every passenger,” said NNIC General Manager Angelito A. Alvarez in a press release on Sunday.

The new facility is a 6,000 square meter hub, located within a high-level parking structure in Terminal 3. It has 401 parking spaces, 18 loading bays and dedicated lanes for Transport Network Vehicle Services (TNVS) and has multiple entry and exit points. .

The hub is designed to improve traffic flow and passenger experience by reducing roadside congestion and ensuring a seamless traffic system, NNIC said.

Private operator NAIA said the TNVS hub became fully operational on December 8, during the peak passenger flow expected during the festive season.

NNIC said Grab Philippines was the first operator to move to the center during the first launch on December 5.

DBDOYC, Inc., the company behind the Angkas motorcycle taxi app, will also move to the facility through its Angcars four-wheel ride services.

Joyride Ecommerce Technologies Corp. (Joyride), with its app-based metered taxi service called “Super Taxi,” will rejoin the two operators at the hub starting December 10.

The three operators have already committed to sending pickup drives to the airport to ensure efficient services, NNIC said, adding that dedicated reservations at the lounge will also be prepared for passengers without a mobile app.

The NNIC, which took over the operation and maintenance of the country’s main gateway in September had earlier unveiled its plan to revitalize the NAIA including addressing problems such as traffic congestion, overcrowding and aging infrastructure. – Ashley Erika O. Jose
