JJ Redick and LeBron ‘Embarrassed’ After Another Blowout Loss
The Lakers lost for the second time in a row on Wednesday night, after being outscored 134-93 by the Heat, with JJ Redick and LeBron responding.
“There has to be some ownership,” Redick said. “It’s easy not to want ownership, especially when it’s embarrassing. I’m ashamed, we all are. It’s not the game I thought we had the right fight, the right skill.
“This is my team, and I lead it. I’m shy, but I can’t make us physically fit. … I don’t blame the players. I own this, but we will need some ownership in court as well. It makes no sense to me that we are together right now.”
LeBron fully supported Redick’s comments.
“There are no strategies or X’s and O’s that will get you there,” said James. “You don’t want to come to compete, that’s another story.
“I agree with everything JJ said. Whatever he said, I agree 100%, 1000%.
As the most experienced player in the league, LeBron knows a little about patience, but admitted, “It’s really tiring to have your ass blow up like that twice in a row.”
He says the team must “always be equal,” adding, “I’ve been in this game for a very long time.” Never get too high, never get too low. Because I know how fast this sh*t turns.”
LeBron’s running back, Anthony Davis, was the main culprit for the blowout, as he scored a season-low eight points on 3-14 shooting. This was on the heels of his last season down in the game before facing the Wolves, scoring 12 points on 4-14 from the field.
“I have a lot of confidence in this team and this coaching staff,” said Davis. “I personally think it starts with me. If I play better, the boys play better. I’m definitely holding myself accountable, especially the last few games. It’s just the absence of the team at the attacking end.”
