NBA Insider Predicts ‘Big Change’ For Nuggets
The Nuggets are the team that many NBA insiders are worried about this coming season and one predicts that there could be some big changes coming for the 2023 champions.
If Denver goes the same way as last season from the second round, expect big changes, Zach Lowe said.
“If they lose in the same round as the second round again this year, this feels like a year where if that happens, the next season will change something big,” said Lowe. The NBA on ESPN recently. “I don’t know what it is. I just know that this core is very expensive. Aaron Gordon will soon be fighting for a big extension that will give him a big salary number. The bench is small and untested. There are many questions that must be asked about the team that was the favorite to win the Western Conference last season and fell two rounds short of where they wanted to go. If they don’t get where they need to get this season, I think something will change.”
Lowe’s ESPN colleague Brian Windhorst shared similar concerns when talking about Jamal Murray’s struggles in the playoffs and the Olympics and that his big contract will soon expire.
“They ran out of time with cheap contracts and the pressure is on,” said Windhorst
Meanwhile, Bill Simmons says that of the 30 NBA teams, the Nuggets are the most worried about 2024-25.
“Last year it was intense, I don’t understand what happened in Game 7, maybe it’s not a development but it’s one of the strangest Game 7 in the history of the league and then after everyone talks about how he’s dead and people have played in two consecutive finals before, said Simmons on his self-titled podcast. “… I don’t know where this is going, but I don’t like where we are,” Simmons said.
