Democratic challenger Adam Gray sweeps California’s 13th Congressional District in final House race

Democrat Adam Gray won California’s 13th Congressional District race, defeating Republican Rep. John Duarte, according to the Associated Press.

California’s 13th Congressional District was the last seat to be called, and the district is one of the most competitive races in the Golden State. Republicans ended up with the majority with 220, Democrats followed with 215.

Gray, a former state legislator who represented California’s 21st Congressional District from 2012 to 2022, is considered a centrist Democrat who focuses on important issues for farmers in the Central Valley such as water scarcity. He also campaigned for renewable energy solutions.
