Marissa Lawrence, wife of Jaguars star quarterback, thanks fans for their support after player was brutally beaten
Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence left Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans after being hit by linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair.
Lawrence was on the ground seconds before he was able to go to the cart and be taken off the field. Mac Jones played the entire game, and Jacksonville fell to Houston, 23-20.

Marissa Lawrence, Trevor’s wife, thanked those who reached out to her.
“Thank you for all the texts and prayers,” she wrote in her Instagram Stories post. “Taking time to make sure he’s alive and well but we appreciate all the love and support.”
The Jaguars quarterback also had a health update in a post on X.
“Thank you to everyone who helped me / prayed for me. I’m home and feeling better. It means a lot, thank you all,” he wrote on X.
Lawrence’s hit song sparked a heated argument between players from both teams. Al-Shaair was ejected for contact, and Jaguars linebacker Jarrian Jones was ejected for his role in the fight.

“That was his dumbest hit,” Josh Allen-Hines said, via ESPN. “At the end of the day, we’re just playing football for ourselves, but also the way we’ve changed the rules of how we play, we go through these things.
“We talk about these things. We know how to play football. A few years ago that would have been a lot of fun, but now it wasn’t a good game for him. I won’t stay where I played. He says, does he deserve to be suspended or not?
Jacksonville hardliner Evan Engram called Al-Shaair’s song “dirty,” and felt he had to defend Lawrence at the time.

“It was a natural thing,” he said, via the Jaguars’ website. “It didn’t feel like a clean hit, so just stick with him. I saw him slide, and I saw the hit. I just knew it was wrong. I knew it was a dirty play.”
