Sister Wives Recap: Janelle Says Kody Listens To The Wives To ‘Use’
Janelle Brown he supported his wife Mary Brown after seeing their ex-husband, Is Brownit is said that he never listens to them about their hobbies or travel dreams.
Sunday, December 1, episode of Sister WivesMeri, 53, met Kody, 55, once Robyn Brown finally discussing paying for Coyote Pass, their no-man’s land in Arizona. But first, she popped up on her recent trip to London.
“I mean, Stonehenge is a place I’ve wanted to go to for years,” Meri said before looking directly at her ex-husband, adding, “You know, I’ve always been obsessed with it, so it’s amazing to be. There.”
Kody had a big smile on his face, asking, “Stonehenge? There must be other cool places?”
Meri seemed annoyed by Kody’s reaction, rolling her eyes at his statement. “Remember when we were married and remember when we used to be interested in each other and remember when – how I was worried about Stonehenge?” he answered. “Did you know that I am passionate about Stonehenge and how important this is to me?”
Kody didn’t answer. Instead, he just sat down at the table and nodded. “I mean, I’ve only talked about it and focused on it for 25 years,” Meri later told UK History cameras.
He then revealed, “It’s exciting, you know, when you realize that something was so meaningful that your partner didn’t really know and didn’t really care.”
Meri – who confirmed her split from Kody in January 2023 after more than 30 years of marriage – was not alone in her frustration with the family patriarch. Janelle, 55, told the cameras that she went through a similar situation with Kody years ago before their December 2022 split.
“In fact, I found that Kody will forget the things that are important to me that I was talking about unless he is interested in them,” said Janelle. “Or he can use it as a way to say, ‘You need to do this, and we can do this. You need to do this so we can go to Ireland.’”
Christine Brown agreed with both ex-sister wives, saying, “If you wanted to do things with Kody, you really had to live in his country and do things in his country and what he was interested in.”
When it came to “what you were interested in” Kody would be like, “Uh, not so much.” Not really [interested].” (Christine, 52, left Kody in November 2021.)
Kody, however, blamed his inability to pay attention to his spouse, both now, on his sexuality. “Oh my god, I’m a boy. There are certain things that I will remember and there are things that will not matter to me, even if they matter to you,” he said in the confessional. Sometimes it’s just a selective memory.
Kody’s attention span — or lack thereof — wasn’t the only thing his ex-wives disagreed with on Sunday’s episode. Janelle and Meri had very different ideas than Kody about what should happen to their Coyote Pass property.
Before paying for the property in Flagstaff, Arizona, Kody had divided up plots for each family. There were two shares for Kody and Robyn, who is still married to him, one for Janelle and Kody and one for Janelle, Meri and Kody. (Kody and Robyn’s second plot was originally for Christine and Kody but she gave it to her when they divorced.)
In the second half of Sunday’s episode, viewers learned that Kody had changed plans as they prepared to send the money. Robyn, Janelle, Meri and Kody will all have their own parcel, with Kody and Meri sharing the middle ground between their two locations.
“Right now, we’re in no man’s land,” Janelle told the cameras. “Since I have a lawyer. Kody doesn’t really talk to me about what he wants to do. He doesn’t act happy or enthusiastic or even, like, want to move forward with this. And I’ll just buy me right away, but I just want to settle this and sell it and split it four ways. “
Meanwhile, Meri revealed that she wants to be tested even though Kody doesn’t want it. “I’m not married to Kody anymore. I’m not part of Kody and Robyn’s unit. I have to look after myself,” he said in the confessional. “I talk about it like Kody is in charge of the whole area. It’s because you really have a monopoly on it. His name is on every property.”
He added, “If it comes to the point that I need a lawyer, I will do that.” I hope it doesn’t come to that, but I will do that if I need to.”
Janelle noted that she thinks the division of the world will lead to more problems. “I believe Kody doesn’t like being tested because he knows he’s pretending to be a criminal,” he said. “Now he wants us to trust that he knows what he is talking about in terms of property value.”
Robyn agreed with the idea of testing, but Kody said it was too much work. “I look over there and it’s kind of a source of pain,” Kody explained. “I don’t want to put in more money. I don’t want to do appraisals. I don’t want to talk to lawyers about it. I do not know what to do. I have no intention of doing anything.”
This group ended up standing still, and the issue of how they will divide the land in the end – and who will build on it or sell it – is over.
Sister Wives airs on TLC Sundays at 10 pm ET.
