Jason Kelce he may be retired from the NFL, but he’s as busy as ever.

The former Philadelphia Eagles center is gearing up to host a late-night show on ESPN, aptly titled. They call it Late Night with Jason Kelce.

Although this will be his first game of the night, Kelce, 37, has plenty of experience on camera and behind the microphone. Jason revealed the news of his new venture during his appearance on Thursday, November 21st episode Jimmy Kimmel Live.

“I loved late night shows, I always have. I miss the sleepovers watching Conan O’Brien with my friends,” he said. “We’ll have a group of guys up there – legends of the game, teammates, coaches, celebrities.”

“I thought it would be fun to have live music and do something in front of people. And I said, ‘What is that?’ I was like, ‘The late night shows have that,'” Jason explained. “When I think of the NFL, I think of those old NFL songs, that make you feel like you’re in the middle of football and I thought it would be great to have a team that would play some of that music, celebrate the game.”

Why Does Jason Kelce Get The Night Show?

Jason revealed the inspiration for his new venture in “New Heights,” citing everything from old NFL movies to kids’ sleepovers. The name comes from an early NFL Films production, where the broadcaster John Facenda famously, “They call it football.”

His love of late night TV goes back to his childhood, where he would watch it Conan at bedtime the night before hockey tournaments.

“I like any of these late-night shows to be honest with you,” he said. “We used to wake up like kids watching Conan on the little TV in the ceiling.”

How is Jason Kelce preparing for his new role?

When Jason showed up Kimmelhe took this opportunity to help the veteran show host and immerse himself in the night’s experience as much as possible.

“Jimmy was a man, [he] he gave me a lot of advice, I got to follow him all day,” Jason recalled. “Just going there and talking to him, getting all the ins and outs of how to run a late-night show, how to talk on camera, how to choose topics, how to prepare, it was a really rewarding journey to do.”

They call it Late Night with Jason Kelce will premiere at 1 a.m. ET on Saturday, January 4, leading up to the final weekend of the NFL regular season. It will play five consecutive weekends, taking fans to the Super Bowl on a bye week.

He plans to tape the game at Philadelphia’s Union Transfer a few hours before it airs on ESPN.

Jason plans to welcome voices from around the world of soccer.

“We will have a team, we will have a group of former players, head coaches, maybe a current player,” he said in New Heights.

Travis, naturally, chimed in with “pick me, pick me, pick me,” and Jason confirmed that his brother was welcome to the show.
