Tagovailoa and Gore attended the University of Alabama together. Although the two have not been public about their relationship, Gore posted a picture of himself supporting the Crimson Tide on game day via his Instagram account in 2018.

A few days before the start of training camp in 2022, Tagovailoa and Gore tied the knot in a private ceremony in Davie, Florida.

Days after Tagovailoa and Gore got married, a Fox Sports reporter broke the news. Tagovailoa did not take kindly to his private life in the public eye.
“I mean, for me, I like to keep my life as private as possible and that’s what I, my wife, and I tried to do every day,” he said. “But it is clear that in this world it is not like that. It’s almost disrespectful to do that but it is. I can’t do anything about it. I have a wife.”
He added that the event was “very special,” although he wasn’t sure if the reporter was holding his breath.
“I don’t know how it ended up leaking, but he must have been waiting outside the court for a week,” he said.
