UberXXL will let you get a bigger ride to the airport

Uber has launched a new airport-only fare option in its ride-sharing program called UberXXL. It surpasses the UberXL one X by ensuring a spacious ride that can accommodate large families with large bags – no more sitting on the side of the road trying to figure out what to do next.

The new option is available today at more than 60 airports around the world, with more coming by road. In terms of pricing, UberXXL will sit somewhere between UberXL and Uber Black, the company said. XXL also adds a stop before Uber Shuttle, a charter-style option launched in New York last month that lets you book up to five seats on a ride to the airport at discounted rates and surge protection.

There’s also a new Uber widget that will let you request a ride to your most frequent places, like work and home, right from your iPhone’s home screen. And if you use Uber Reserve to pre-plan a trip to the airport, the new Flight Capture feature lets you enter your flight details to get recommended departure times. .

Uber is also expanding the availability of UberX Share rides, which offer low fares to split a ride with a single passenger, at select airports, including EWR, IAD, SFO, and a few others. If it can’t find a passenger to your destination within five minutes of requesting a ride, Uber will let you go solo with a discount.
