Burgess and Ruzek have been dating since season 1. The pair got engaged twice before Ruzek proposed a third time during season 11. Ever since then, fans have been wondering how they were going to say “I do.”
Flueger, on the other hand, was told only Us in September that “it’s not really our game [style]” to have a big wedding. “I don’t know how you fit that into our system. It feels like it’s going to be more elevated than what you’ll see on screen,” he explained.
The actor, 40, noted that Ruzek may have told Burgess, “Should we just go to court? Let’s keep it simple. I don’t need to do everything. I just want to be with you.”
The squerciati, however, does not want something outside the camera or on the court. “I want a white dress moment. Burgess needs a white dress,” he insisted. “Of course Burgess picks dahlias too, as centerpieces with candles. Come on, give the girl a moment!”
Although the details of Burgess and Ruzek’s marriage were not yet known, Scerciati said Us that the couple is strong even after Burgess turned detective — and added another responsibility to his plate — on the November 6 episode.
“I don’t think there’s ever been a poison dart that hasn’t been thrown at their relationship,” she said. “There has been cheating, agreements have been broken. We were both shot. I think we have both been kidnapped.”
Squerciati explained that “the fact that they are in a really good place and a supportive environment, and they have a very good marriage and have a child.” [is] good, and the fans should.”
