RHONY’s Dorinda Medley Says ‘She Cried My Eyes Out’ After Leaving
Dorinda Medley he likes to make it beautiful and keep it real.
More than four years after leaving The Real Housewives of New York CityMedley, 59, remains grateful to viewers who still want to see her return to the Bravo reality show.
“I always find that strange [the fans] I think we have to do something about it,” he said Us Weekly when we promote Words With Friends on Friday, November 8. “Call Andy [Cohen]! Andy is the only one who can make that happen.”
He continued, “I was at a meet and greet last night and someone asked, ‘Would you ever?’ Listen, I’m open to all possibilities. I loved my time at Bravo. I cried when he let me go. I won’t lie. I am not one of these people who made a statement that I decided to take others [time off]. I don’t want to go.”
After six seasons, Medley announced in August 2020 that he would no longer be a part of it The Real Housewives of New York City. He has appeared in two seasons The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip on Bravo.
In 2022, Bravo announced RHONY you will come back with a new cast slide. Medley revealed to him Us that he only watches part of it because he likes to share his thoughts on his “Reality Checked” show on SiriusXM.
“I feel naive and protected,” he said Us about his observational experience. “It’s something I’ve been through so I deal with it with determination and people like to compare and make it worse. And I always say, ‘Listen, it’s not like they chose one over the other. They decided to throw out one and start a new one.’ I say this kindly, but the crown was difficult. Girls have a strong legacy and people are very sensitive and devoted to them. “
As Jenna Lyons, Erin Lichy, Sai De Silva, Ubah Hassan, Thanks Jessel, Brynn Whitfield and more stars continue to document their lives on camera, Medley hopes people will continue to give them a chance.
“We need to see what these young girls look like in New York,” Medley joked. “I don’t know what a 36-year-old woman looks like in New York. It’s a very different way to spend your life and raise your children than when I did it. So I always say, ‘Give them a chance.’ And if there ever was a world where we collided and there was a meeting, I’m sure that would be fun too. Let the Bravo gods decide. And here we are, the phone is gone.”
Meanwhile, Medley has her hands full as she transforms Bluestone Manor for the holidays. He also cooperated The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Dorit Kemsley with a new campaign about the names of Friends.
Medley said he likes to play the popular word game where players take turns building words puzzle-style in a way similar to the classic board game Scrabble.
“We have a lot of free time because we’re always on the go,” Medley explained about the way he and Kemsley live. “You are always sitting at the airport, sitting in the car, waiting to be seen, committing your sins. It’s a great way – without having to call and interact that way – to just sneak in and just connect. It’s very relaxing. And who doesn’t like to get your mind blown, you know?”
