Nina Dobrev and Shaun White Hit the First Red Carpet Since Getting Engaged

Nina Dobrev again Shaun White all smiling as they stepped out on the red carpet for the first time.

Dobrev, 35, and White, 38, partied together on Wednesday, November 6, at the fourth annual Earthshot Prize Awards held at the Green Point Shared Fields in Cape Town, South Africa. The event was chaired by the founder and president of Earthshots, Prince William.

Dobrev rocked a red strapless floor-length dress by Carly Cushnie, pairing the look with sparkling hoop earrings and her five-carat diamond engagement ring from Lorraine Schwartz Jewelry. (Lorel Diamonds jeweler Laura Taylor shared with Us Weekly (he estimated the ring, with an oval-shaped diamond set on a yellow gold band, would cost $220,000 to $270,000.)

She styled her long hair down, her hair tucked behind her ears. White, meanwhile, rocked a black tuxedo as he stood next to Dobrev.

The pair’s appearance came one week after Dobrev announced that she and White were engaged.

“RIP boyfriend, hello boyfriend 💍♾️,” Dobrev captioned an Instagram photo of the couple in front of a floral arch. White added her own post at the time, writing, “She said YES 💍♾️.”

Dobrev was “absolutely surprised” by the proposal, which took place in New York City, the source said Us. “They are both incredibly happy,” added the insider.

After the wedding, White told himself Vogue that he decided to pop the question at the end of October after his first two proposal plans fell through. After Dobrev told White she wasn’t feeling well just days before the proposal, the Olympic gold medalist decided to ask her community for help.

White told the outlet that she sent Dobrev a fake invitation to the CFDA Awards once Vogue dinner with Anna Wintour at the Golden Swan. She accepted the invitation, later telling Vogue that White “made the invitation look official.”

When Dobrev arrived at the fictional event, White and a photographer were standing in front of the arch. “I am shocked. I just stared at him,” Dobrev said, adding, “No, no, no!”

White told the newspaper that he knew Dobrev was “nervous” because he started making jokes. “He says, ‘Now, wait, isn’t Anna here?'” said White.

Before the meeting, Us reported that White and Dobrev – who went public with their relationship in 2020 – were considering taking the next steps in their romance. “They talked about getting married, having kids, the whole nine yards,” an insider shared exclusively with 2023.
