Teddi Mellencamp’s Husband Shares Sweet Note 1 Week Before Split News

One week before Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum’s Instagram post, which noted that she has made the decision to file for divorce after 13 years of marriage, her husband, Edwin Arroyaveposted an Instagram carousel of the couple at the Cure Melanoma Gala in New York City.
“I always say that life and pain are inseparable,” she wrote in a statement posted on October 25, alongside several photos and videos of the two, one of which shows the couple kissing.
“Seeing @teddimellencamp embrace her pain and use it for good again last night as she accepted the @curemelanoma gala, was a great reminder of what she’s capable of,” he continued.
Mellencamp, who hosted the event, has undergone 16 melanoma surgeries.
Arroyave also wrote that “his story has saved people’s lives. And I couldn’t be prouder that you will continue to save more. I love you, Teds.”
This marks a stark contrast to Mellencamp’s announcement on Saturday.
“After much care and consideration, I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce,” he wrote in a photo posted to his account. “My priority is my children and ensuring that every care is taken for their privacy and health throughout this new chapter.”
Mellencamp went on to say that she did not want to make a public statement, “but in an effort to protect my family from unnecessary speculation and rumors, I felt comfortable, honest and vulnerable was the best way forward.”
Mellencamp, whose father is a famous musician John Mellencampmarried Arroyave in 2011. The two have three children together: Slate, Dove and Cruz. Arroyave also has another child from a previous relationship, Isabella.
The first one Real Housewives The star was on the show during seasons 8, 9 and 10. Meanwhile, his relationship with Arroyave was on the rocks, seeing them almost estranged.
In an episode of her podcast, “Two Ts in a Pod,” she talked about their tumultuous time together on the show. “When we first started, I remember my first day I was honestly like ‘F—, when am I going to tell everybody I’m getting a divorce? When am I doing this?,” he said. “We’re at our worst stage, because honestly, for us, it was about a power struggle.”
He continued, “We were always equal people when we were together. I rode horses, I was competitive and I was all this. Then I couldn’t conceive naturally, I did all these IVFs. Then, all of a sudden, he was in charge of the finances, and I had never been that. I’ve never had my own money, I’ve been working since I was 17. Then I started to hate him.”
