Joe Mazzella Wants The NBA To Bring Back The Fight
In a perfect world, Celtics coach Joe Mazzella wants to see NBA players unite.
Mazzula said laughing when he appeared on the radio Boston’s 98.5 The Sports Hub that changing the rule of his dream in the league would be to bring back the war.
“I think the biggest thing we are taking away from people as entertainment is that you can no longer fight,” said Mazzella. “I wish you could bring back the fight.”
He added, “I mean you’re not talking about hacking the entertainment league. What’s more fun than fighting?”
The NBA has had a rough start to the season. Hell, Donte DiVincenzo even had an argument during the season opener with his former Knicks assistant coach.
With Dillon Brooks and Draymond Green in the league, there’s always the possibility that some controversies will happen. There is no doubt that this season will be different.
Mazzulla wasn’t done with his wish list, as he also said he would like to see the league introduce some sort of five-on-four benefit in certain situations.
“Well, I mean, basketball is one of the sports that doesn’t have a power play,” he said.
“I think football just puts a ‘green card’ where the guy has to come off and it’s 10 on 9. As we have to have power play. Because let’s say you have a technical or let’s say you get a take foul, and you get one shot, but you’re not really rewarded for that because if you overshoot, you don’t get the reward for that foul. So it should be like a power play where if you play foul or technical, you have to play five on 4 for five seconds or three passes.”
