Brave and Good: Why HFTF Failed, Who’s to Blame & Who Can Save Hope (It’s Not Carter!)

The Bold and the Beautiful sees Hope Logan (Annika Noelle) face a setback because Hope for the Future (HFTF) can’t keep buyers. It seems that the design is failing. Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) told her father, Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) about the problems. This comes after a loyal repeat customer did not want a new collection.

The Bold and the Beautiful: Hope Logan’s Fashion Line Struggles Despite Support
In Bold and the Beautiful, back in 2010, Hope for the Future appeared in a competition ad campaign. It was during Katie Logan’s (Heather Tom) tenure as CEO of Forrester Creations. Hope’s mind overpowered Steffy’s. And it was because of the personal problems of Katie and Steffy following Bill Spencer (Don Diamont).
The ad concept turned into a full fashion line. But Themba is not a designer and never has been. B&B saw the line canceled after Kim Matula left. They brought it back when they re-examined Hope and Annika Noelle.
Many leading designers take over, including Thorne Forrester (Winsor Harmon) and Caroline Spencer (Linsey Godfrey). It was also played by Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson), and Eric Forrester (John McCook) in The Bold and the Beautiful.
B&B: Thomas Forrester’s Absence Explains the Crisis of Hope for the Future
It is possible that hope for the future is failing now because Thomas Forrester is not in charge. He is a brilliant designer who has brought success to the line in the past. He called Hope his treasure. Bold and the Beautiful sees the problems between Themba and Thomas that caused him to leave. Plus, Steffy really pushed him to leave when Hope broke his heart.
Unless Thomas returns or the family brings in an outside designer, the line seems lost. The designer might be Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) from The Young and the Restless.
The design team now includes Hope, Zende Forrester Dominguez (Delon de Metz), and RJ Forrester (Joshua Hoffman). But they weren’t cut from the Bold and the Beautiful. Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor) thinks the company should put more money on the line. But that’s a long shot.
We will see. Carter’s new idea for House of Forrester is amazing but that has nothing to do with HFTF. It seems destined to remain in trouble without a designer who can work well with Hope. He inspired every design that Thomas did.
With him gone, and with Themba having no design skills, where can we go from here? Carter is trying to protect HFTF but throwing money at a shrinking company won’t make it attractive to consumers. You know that old saying about throwing good money after bad?
I’m sure Steffy will fight to wrap HFTF in the House of Forrester concept if the leadership team decides to take a risky proposition. We’ll see how it goes on The Bold and the Beautiful.
