An amazing piece of history leads to Gerber Baby giving new dads free food for a year

In a viral TikTok video that now has 12.9M views, a new dad successfully redeemed a 30-year-old coupon for a new pair of Gerber socks, leading to a heart-warming surprise.

Logan Ivey, 30, his fiancee and his mother were browsing photos of older children as he prepared his bundle of joy for the first time when they found a ‘non-expiration’ coupon on it.

“My mom was showing my fiance Michelle a bunch of old baby pictures and books from my kids, as we’re expecting our own baby, and in one of the baby albums there were a bunch of cards. While I was reading the cards, I saw one from my mom’s best friend who had a Gerber coupon. We thought it would be funny to try and figure out what the coupon was “Are we really still usable since we didn’t have an expiration date,” Ivey said.

The couple took the coupon to a local Target hoping to redeem a piece of history and were met with confusion from Target employees. There was no way to scan the coupon, but the manager was still able to accept the coupon and reduce the price of a $9 pair of Gerber socks to $8.

Gerber also announced that they will provide Logan and his wife with a year’s supply of Gerber baby food and baby clothing from brand partners Gerber Childrenswear, the company told Fox News Digital.

“We did a video, and it did really well and Gerber was quick to do a video giving my boyfriend and I a year’s supply of baby food and a baby wardrobe. We really enjoyed this, and we thought the whole thing was crazy. It started with a little $1 coupon,” she said. Ivy.

Ivey says many commenters chastised him for cutting the memory.

“Many people commented that they were so angry that I cut the sympathetic card, and I was damaging the memory. But during the 30 years that my mother had that card, she probably only looked at it once or twice. But now my mother has shown many people my video, and the response video that Gerber showed her best friend who gave a card 30 years ago that he loved, and he wasn’t mad that I cut it,” Ivey said.

As a final parting gift, Gerber makes sure the couple has something to remember this special part of their journey to parenthood.

“One thing that really touched me was that in the package Gerber gave us, they rewrote the card, and the coupon (but this time for baby food and wardrobe), so now we have a complete card to go with it that has been cut out,” he said. Ivy.
