United Spirits announces slight rise in Q2 profit to Rs 341 crore

United Spirits Q2 results: Alcoholic beverages major United Spirits Ltd on Wednesday reported a slight increase in consolidated profit to Rs 341 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2024 influenced by a softer than expected environment.
The company posted a consolidated profit of Rs 339 crore in the same quarter last fiscal, United Spirits Ltd said in a regulatory filing.
Consolidated revenue from operations for the quarter under review stood at Rs 6,672 crore, compared to Rs 6,737 crore in the previous period, the company said.
Total expenditure was lower at Rs 6,264 crore in the July-September quarter, compared to Rs 6,362 crore in the second quarter of the previous fiscal, it added.
“It’s a quiet quarter amid softer-than-expected demand,” said United Spirits CEO and Managing Director Hina Nagarajan.
However, he said the company is still heading into the holiday season after structural storms including the reopening of business in Andhra Pradesh state after a gap of nearly five years.
“This reinforces our faith in the overall health and long-term fundamentals of the spirits industry and business in India. Our primary focus is on operational excellence to drive continued profitable growth, while maintaining the long-term competitiveness of our portfolio,” Nagarajan said. .
